How To Creat NSFAS Account

  • Type in first names (as per ID number)

Apply For NSFAS 2024/2025

  • Create a brand-new myNSFAS account or modify an existing one.
  • www.nsfas.org.za has a long page.
  • Click the “myNSFAS” tab to open it.
  • Select “Register.”
  • Check the appropriate box to give NSFAS permission to verify your information.
  • then complete the form using your South African ID number precisely as it appears on your South
  • Identity Card for Africa (ID)

  • Enter the email address you are using right now.
  • Check your email’s accuracy.
  • Input your mobile phone number.

Required Documents for NSFAS Applications

The following records must be certified copies and cannot be more than three months old. Your documents needs to be certified by the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office. If you are under 18 or over 18 but STILL DEPENDENT on your parent’s or guardian’s combined family income, the following also applies:

  • the age of 18, together with a validated copy of your birth certificate or South African ID.
  • If you are 16 years old and do not have a green bar-coded ID or smart ID card, you must show a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate.
  • IDs for the parents or guardians (death certificate)
  • IDs for the parents or guardians (and a death certificate if applicable).
  • a certified copy of your most current transcript or exam results. (You are excluded from submitting this if you are presently enrolled in Grade 12).

  • Download the consent form, complete it, and have all candidates who have stated income sign it.
  • If you have a disability, download and complete the Disability Annexure A Form.

Who Can Receive NSFAS Funding

  • a South African national;
  • The entire annual household income is less than R350 000;
  • You received a grant from SASSA;
  • you are enrolled in a report 191 or National Certificate Vocational program at a TVET institution, or you are applying to a public university to start your first undergraduate degree;
  • You want to enroll in a public university or TVET college to pursue a degree;
  • Your home earns less than R122 000 annually, and you’ve already applied to colleges;
  • You must have completed Grades 9 and 10 to be eligible for NSFAS financing for a TVET college, and Grade 12 to be eligible for NSFAS funding for a university.
