If you received a notification asking you to unload outstanding supporting materials, please read the list of required supporting documents below. The National Students Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) online application period for 2024 opens on September 28 and closes in January for those wishing to do so. It is suggested that you read this;

NSFAS applications are now being accepted for 2024. Send your NSFAS funding application before September 28, 2023. Applications for 2024 must be submitted by January 31. Applications submitted after the cutoff date won’t be considered, so make sure to do so.

Who Can Receive A Bursary

You may qualify for an NSFAS bursary if you are a citizen of South Africa, want to enrol in school in 2024, are currently enrolled in a public university or TVET college, and meet the qualifications given below.

• the recipients of the SASSA
• You must be a disabled individual whose yearly household income is no more than R600 000 or whose annual household income is no more than R350 000.
• students who began their university education before 2024 and whose household income is less than R122 000 annually

Can you Get Six Years of NSFAS Funding

Based on the number of funds available each year, NSFAS will only provide support for a maximum of five years if you meet the criteria for eligibility under the means test. You will be responsible for paying for yourself until you graduate if you regularly change your program of study and it takes you longer than five years to finish your certificate.

Documents Required For The 2024/2025 NSFAS Online Application

To submit your NSFAS Bursary Online Application for 2024, you must upload the following files:

• You must include both your personal phone number and email address.
• A copy of your ID or birth certificate must be provided.
• Additionally, you must present copies of your ID as well as the IDs of any parents, legal guardians, or spouses you may have.
• If your spouse, your parents, or your guardians are recipients of a SASSA grant and you can provide one year’s worth of IRP5 (if applicable) as evidence of their income, you do not need to provide any income documentation.
• a Disability Annexure that has been signed and completed A Form must be filled out and submitted by all candidates with disabilities.

How To Submit An Online NSFAS Application

Application for NSFAS Account Funding:

• Make alterations to an existing myNSFAS account or create a new one.
• Visit www.nsfas.org.za to see.
• Set the “myNSFAS” tab to active.
• Decide to “Register.”
• Please check the appropriate box to allow NSFAS to validate your information.
• Please enter your ID number into the form exactly as it is shown on your South African Identity Document (ID)
• Enter your full name and last name using your ID number as a guide.
• Your current email address must be entered.
• Check the details of your email.
• Your mobile number should be entered.
• Create a password.
• Verify the ID image and password.
• Decide to “Register.”
• An OTP will be sent to the specified email address and mobile number, and it will be good for 24 hour
• Type the OTP in and click “Submit.”
• You have now finished the re-registration process.
• To be taken to the online application form, click the APPLY tab.

What Requirements Are Needed To Apply For NSFAS 2024/2025

Submitting an NSFAS Consent Form

After completing the form, visit the MyNSFAS portal and log in. Any incomplete extra materials may be posted. The papers need to be uploaded before you can choose “Submit Documents” from the menu.

• The procedure is complete when all documents have been uploaded and you have seen the message “Outstanding application documents submitted successfully uploaded.”
• The documents are probably unclear if you submitted the required paperwork yet there was still an issue. Visit an NSFAS or NYDA office if you need help using the phone’s camera to snap pictures.
