Students who have not yet submitted their 2024 Second Semester NSFAS applications have a very small window of time remaining because today is their final day to do so. As a result, it is suggested that they apply as soon as feasible. Students enrolled in technical and vocational education and training (TVET) colleges who are not currently receiving financial aid through the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) are encouraged to apply before the program’s application window for second-semester student funding closes. If you are a student who qualifies for NSFAS funding but has not yet submitted an application, you can do so by following the steps below:

To learn more about this, read on. For students attending Technical and Vocational Education Training (TVET) colleges, the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) will begin accepting applications for Semester 2 on July 4, 2024. The application date for these positions is July 22, 2024.

Follow These Steps To Apply For Nsfas Second Semester 2024
- Enter your myNsfas login information.
- Enter the details requested by Nsfas.
- Choose “Apply”
- Once you have entered all the relevant information (parents’ information, mothers’ information, guardians’ information, spouse’s information, or spouse’s information for married students), click the next button.
- After completing all fields and steps necessary, you must upload the required files.
- Once all required documents have been uploaded, select “Next.”
- Click “submit” after verifying that the information and documents you provided are accurate.

Document To Apply NSFAS Second Semester 2024/2025
When applying students will be required to provide the following supporting documents when submitting their applications:
- Copy of South African birth certificate/copy of ID document/Temporary ID of the student
- Copy of South African birth certificate/copy of ID document/Temporary ID of parent(s)/guardian/spouse
- Proof of income (where applicable) – student/parent(s)/guardian or spouse (not older than 3 months.
- SASSA recipients have no proof of income required.
- A student recognized as a vulnerable child (e.g. Orphan) must submit a completed Vulnerable Child Declaration Form completed by the Social worker
Who Must Apply
- Must be a South African citizen.
- Can be a SASSA grant recipient.
- Applicants whose combined household income is not more than R350 000 per annum.
- Persons with a disability whose combined household income is not more than R600 000 per annum.
- Applicants who first registered at university before 2018 and whose household income is not more than R122 000 per annum.
What Is Covered by the NSFAS
The housing, living allowance, transportation, and educational material grants must adhere to the most recent DHET standards.

NSFAS Monthly Allowance 2024/2025
The following monthly payments can be expected:
- Educational Resources (Books): R433
- Living Expenses: R1250
- Incidental Provisions: R241
- Travel Costs: R625
- Accommodation: Value is dependent on each student
