The old NSFAS offices in Wynberg have been closed, as discovered by some students who have visited there. They’ll be happy to hear that NSFAS will start up again at their new location. The Wynberg Walk-In Center of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) in Cape Town has reportedly been permanently closed as of February 25, 2022.

NSFAS New Office

NSFAS spokeswoman Kagisho Mamabolo reports that the bursary program has relocated to the KPMG building in the Cape Town CBD by the Foreshore region and has formally opened its new Student Centre there.

The new NSFAS center is located in Cape Town City Centre at 4 Christiaan Barnard Street. The Center will be open from 8:30 am to 5 pm, Monday through Friday.

You can choose to go to their student center if you are an NSFAS student financing candidate and have any extra questions about the outcomes of your application but do not have access to online resources.

In order to register, NSFAS applicants have also been instructed to log into their myNSFAS accounts and monitor the progress of their NSFAS applications there.

2024 Nsfas Application

  • Click the “myNSFAS” tab at www.nsfas.org.za.
  • Establish a myNSFAS account.
  • To apply, select the APPLY option and fill out the fields on the screen.
  • When necessary, upload the relevant supporting papers.
  • Click “Submit.”

Date of the 2023 NSFA Online Application

NSFAS 2023–2024 online applications are accepted from November 2, 2023, through January 7, 2024. Because of this, candidates are urged to submit their applications by the deadline.

Who Can Receive NSFAS Funding

To qualify for bursaries, applicants must adhere to four fundamental standards;

  • every South African national
  • All winners of SASSA grants are eligible for funding
  • applicants whose annual household combined income does not exceed R350 000
  • A disabled person: The total annual household income cannot exceed R600,000.
  • students whose household income is not more than R122 000 annually and who began their studies before 2024.
