The National Student Financial Aid Scheme offers bursaries to South African students enrolled in any public university or TVET institution. The NSFAS bursary pays for registration fees, living expenses, and tuition. This page is for you if you need help setting up your NSFAS User profile account. The steps Will show you how to build a profile or register for an NSFAS account.
What You Need To Set Up An NSFAS Profile
For the purpose of opening a MyNsfas account, the following materials must be available:
the specifications needed to create an NSFAS profile.
- an actual mobile number (e.g 076 482 1064)
- Active Gmail or email address
- ID copy ( preferable in PDF form)
You can open a Gmail account here if you don’t already have one: You should open a Gmail account as soon as possible. In case you need them later, don’t forget to write down your login details and password in a safe place.
The password for your NSFAS profile cannot be changed without accessing your Gmail account. You will get important communications from NSFAS via Gmail, including findings of the application status review.
Accessing Nsfas Profile Account
Follow the steps below to check your MyNSFAS account:
- Visit www.nsfas.org.za to see your MyNSFAS account information.
- the “myNsfas account” link.
- Username and password entered
- Select “My personal details” from the menu.
- The most recent information should be reflected in your email address and/or phone number.
- To finish registration, you must upload a copy of your ID. For those who own an ID card, be sure to submit a copy of your ID card that displays both sides.
Procedures for Creating Your NSFAS Profile
You can create your MyNSFAS profile by following the instructions listed below.
- You can visit the NSFAS Page at https://www.nsfas.org.za.
- launch the myNSFAS tab.
- Determine Register.
- To allow NSFAS to validate your data, check the appropriate box.
- Next, make a note of your ID’s number exactly as it appears there.
- Enter your full first name and last name as shown on your ID number.
- The field must contain your current email address.
- Validate the email address you entered.
- Your mobile number should be entered here.
- The creation of a password.
- To upload, enter the ID copy password again and select Register.
- OTP will be sent to the supplied email and mobile numbers (this OTP expires after 24 hours)
- To submit, enter the OTP here.
- This concludes your pre-registration.
What Amount Does NSFAS Give TVET Students
The bursary pays for the following allowances in addition to tuition, registration, and books for TVET college students: Each NSFAS-funded student receives R2,900 in personal care allowance each year. Students who reside 40 kilometers from their campus are eligible for a transport allowance and will receive R7,350 annually.
