Refunds or allowances will shortly be deposited by Unisa into the accounts of students who qualify for them through a new EFT procedure. Here is how students can receive a refund for their registration fees. The University of South Africa (Unisa) will soon deposit allowances and/or refunds into the accounts of students who qualify for such payments via a new electronic funds transfer (EFT) procedure.
How Long Does Unisa Refund Take
Refunds, according to Unisa, may not appear in a student’s account for up to 15 days. This is subject to the student meeting the requirements for a refund and having updated their banking information.
Is UNISA Willing To Reimburse The Registration Fee
Refunds. All NSFAS-funded students will receive a refund of their registration fees if they pay the required minimum to activate their enrollment. Payment won’t be processed unless NSFAS certifies to Unisa that the registration data processing was done satisfactorily. An application for a refund is not necessary.
How Do I Obtain My NSFAS Reimbursement
You must fill out a refund form in order to get a refund. The form needs to be filled out with a valid bank account under your ID number and stamped at the bank. Send the application to refunds@nsfas.org.za. Please be aware that after obtaining the completed refund form, your refund will be handled in less than 21 days.

NSFAS Appeal Process
In myNSFAS, you can appeal as follows:
- Access your “MyNSFAS” account by visiting www.nsfas.org.za.
- Then select “Track Funding Progress.”
- Examine the application’s progress tabs.
- You can submit an appeal by selecting the “Submit Appeal Tab” if your application status shows a failed notification.
- You can view the cause of your application status being rejected once you are on the “Application Appeal” page.
- The appeal reason is then yours to select.
- then submit verified evidence to back up your argument.
- and then select “Submit Appeal.”
- Now, you can check your myNSFAS account to see how the appeal is doing.
- If you find that your NSFAS application was “unsuccessful,” you have 30 days to file an appeal.
