NSFAS Online Application Apply Now 2024/2025,What Is Covered by the NSFAS
Applications for bursaries under the government’s funding scheme NSFAS are currently being accepted for university and TVET College courses in 2024. Due to the recent requests for free higher education, NSFAS now fully covers qualified students’ university and college tuition. However, the application deadline is this month! Every person who receives a grant is immediately eligible for a bursary. Continue reading this post for information on who is qualified and how to complete your NSFAS application.
NSFAS Online Application Apply Now 2024/2025
You successfully submit an NSFAS application, make sure to follow the steps indicated below.
- visit the nsfas.org.za website
- To create a MyNSFAS account, register.
- After clicking the Apply button, fill out the field with the necessary data.
- Add the necessary files as necessary.
- To send your NSFAS application via email, click Submit.
The NSFAS online submission site will open on September 28, 2023, for the following academic year. Only on the NSFAS application opening day may applicants view and submit award applications.

Required Documents For NSFAS Applications
The following papers must be in certified copy form and cannot be older than three months. Your documentation needs to be certified by the South African Police Service or the South African Post Office. This also applies if you are under the age of 18 or over the age of 18 but STILL DEPENDENT on the joint household income of your parents or guardians:
- a certified copy of your South African ID or birth certificate. If you are under 18, you must provide a certified copy of your unabridged birth certificate.
- 16 years old and without a smart ID card or green bar-coded ID.
- IDs for the parents or guardians (death certificate)
- IDs for the parents or guardian (and a death certificate if applicable).
- If you are working, you may use your pay stubs or appointment letters as evidence of your own or your guardian’s annual household income. (This applies to all forms of income for all family members, including grants from SASSA, Unemployment Insurance Fund (UIF), and retirement, life, disability, or other benefits received in a single payment or over the course of a year.)
Who Qualify To Receive NSFAS Funding
To qualify for bursaries, applicants must adhere to four fundamental standards;
- every South African national
- All winners of SASSA grants are eligible for funding
- applicants whose annual household combined income does not exceed R350 000
- A disabled person: The total annual household income cannot exceed R600,000.
- students who started their studies before 2024 and whose household income is not higher than R122 000 annually
What Is Covered by the NSFAS
The housing, living allowance, transportation, and educational material grants must adhere to the most recent DHET standards.
- Accommodation allowance
- Transport allowance
- Living allowance
- Learning material allowance
- Incidental/personal care allowance
NSFAS Monthly Allowance 2024/2025
The following monthly payments can be expected:
- Educational Resources (Books): R433
- Living Expenses: R1250
- Incidental Provisions: R241
- Travel Costs: R625
- Accommodation: Value is dependent on each student
Opening Date for NSFAS Applications in 2024
NSFAS applications are now being accepted for 2024. Please submit your NSFAS financing application by September 28, 2023. The current deadline for 2024 applications is January 31. Make careful to submit your application before the deadline because it won’t be approved if it is submitted after.
